The «Techno Baron» is a nickname given by John Peel to Dave Clarke because of the enormous influence he has on the electronic music history.

Since his childhood, Dave Clarke is passionate by technology. It’s not surprising that, at the age of 16, he immerses himself in hip-hop, acid house and rave music, avant garde genres that perfectly correspond to his artistic aspirations. 

And Dave Clarke always knew how to keep his punk soul. He is present at the heart of the system, without ever be dominated by it. You can find this state of mind in his music and in the diversity of his influences, from the pioneers of the Chicago-house through the raw and brutal energy of The Damned. 

It’s with With Archive One (1996), his first album, that he had been recognized as one of the biggest names of the techno movement. It is now considered one of the best producers of the 1990s, and we are so glad to welcome him on Hibernation !
